Visitors of all ages can read our stories, play games, and enjoy most of NorthPoleTimes.com without providing any personal information. This policy explains what information we collect when families use our interactive features, how we use it, and how parents can manage it.

The information we collect depends on which features are used.
NorthPoleTimes.com — Children's Website
All activities on our children's website, with the exception of the Post Office and Naughty or Nice List, can be enjoyed without providing any personal information whatsoever.
The Naughty or Nice List requires only a child's first name. The Post Office asks for a child's first name, Christmas wish list (for example, Bobby — toy truck, bicycle, and baseball mitt), and a parent or guardian's email address.
Post Office: The parent or guardian's email address is used to send a notification and a Secret Passcode so the family can access Santa's email response through the Post Office. All information collected, including the child's first name, Christmas wish list, and parent or guardian's email address, is deleted after 12 months. Parents can also view or delete their child's information at any time through our Child Management page.
Naughty or Nice List: To receive a response and discover where a child stands on Santa's Naughty or Nice List, only a first name is required. Each name is checked against our existing list of more than 50,000 saved names before displaying the results. If the name is not already present, the child's first name is added to the list. And so you know, every child's generic response comes back as "Nice." If you'd like personalized control over the response, you can do so through the Parent Portal.
Parent Portal — Parent-Managed Website
The Parent Portal allows parents and guardians to create a free account, manage their children's information, and purchase or access personalized Christmas experiences.
To register for a free Parent Portal account, parents and guardians will need to provide only their name and email address. Account holders can add or delete individual children from the account at any time. They can also delete their entire account at any time as well. Once information is deleted, it is permanently removed and cannot be retrieved.
Depending on the services selected, parents may provide their child's first name and details used to personalize content, such as an Email from Santa, accomplishments, Naughty or Nice List standings, or stories.
Parents may also choose to upload optional photographs for certain personalized features. All personalized information, including photographs, is accessible only through the parent's account and is not publicly displayed. Parents have complete control over whom they choose to share the personalized information with.
Secure Payment Processing
All product purchases made through the Parent Portal are processed securely through PayPal. North Pole Times does not collect, store, or retain customers' credit card or debit card information. Payment information is handled directly by PayPal through its secure payment processing system.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for necessary website functions. We may use cookies to maintain website sessions.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand general website traffic, such as page views and site performance. Google Analytics may use cookies and other identifiers for measurement. We have configured our analytics settings with children's privacy in mind, including disabling advertising personalization features and Google Signals. Analytics information is used solely to understand website activity, improve performance, and enhance the visitor experience—not for targeted advertising.
North Pole Times uses outside providers for website hosting and analytics. These providers may process information needed to deliver their services.
Advertising on our child-directed website is intended to be appropriate for children and consistent with applicable privacy requirements.
Our website may link to other websites. Their privacy practices are separate from ours, and we encourage parents to review them.
We require children to ask a parent or guardian before submitting information online. North Pole Times is committed to protecting children's privacy and following applicable requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
We collect only the information needed to provide our interactive features and give parents ways to review or delete their children's information.
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
We require children to ask a grown-up before entering information online, never share their home address or private passwords, and talk to a trusted adult if something online makes them uncomfortable.
